I was doing some (long neglected) blog reading this morning and read through two blogs -- one from my fabulous friend, Alissa, and another from a blogger who seems pretty darn cool -- and decided, despite the fact that I'm single and they are clearly referring to a particular guy in their blog(s), to steal the post idea.
So here you go -- a stolen meme, referencing a number of guys who have been really good to me in the past/are being good to me in the present...

He loves you...
If he always offers to carry heavy bags -- and when you're having a rough day, grabs whatever you're holding (even a purse) without question.
If he's always honest.
If he really listens when you talk.
If he can't help but laugh when you laugh.
If he is careful, even when he's really mad, not to go for the proverbial jugular.
If he apologizes, and means it, when he's wrong.
If he accepts your apologies and really forgives your mistakes.
If he spends an occasional Sunday afternoon watching Lifetime movies with you.
If he respects your wishes, and boundaries.
If he understands when you need alone time.
If he knows you well enough to know when you need help -- even if you're denying that you do.
If he's patient when you're having trouble expressing what you're feeling.
If he calls you on your bullshit, in a way that is both straightforward and not cruel.
If his hugs are just as good, and mean just as much, as...the rest of it.
If he takes the time to really know, and adore, your friends.
If he takes the time to really know, and adore, your family.
If he lets you use his body to warm up your ever-freezing feet.
If you hear, in his voice, that he is happy to hear your voice, whenever you call.
If he lets you see his vulnerable side, and help him.
If he finds your...monthly few days of crankiness/insane emotion...endearing, rather than extraordinarily annoying.
If he tells you he loves you -- but shows you even more often.
If he reads your writing and gives you honest, thoughtful feedback.
If he thinks you look just as good in your PJ pants as when you're dressed up.
If he gives you back and head rubs, over and over, despite knowing that you will likely fall asleep before reciprocating.
If he drives through ice storms to be there for you physically and emotionally when you need him -- even when you don't ask him to be.
If he embraces your birthday self-promotion.
If he remembers the little things.
If, even when something seems insignificant to him, he does (or doesn't) do it, just because it makes you happy.
If seeing you happy makes him happy -- and seeing you sad makes him sad.
If he always gives you the tomatoes and olives off his salad, without asking or acknowledging the action.
If he gets your drink order right.
If, when you catch his eye across a room, you know that he's feeling the same thing you are: that you're in a relationship with the most perfect person (for you) there.
